Maydan Executive Director Haroon Moghul presented at the June 19, 2010, Radicalization and De-Radicalization Strategies Conference in Hartford, Connecticut.  The day-long conference featured prominent speakers from the United States and abroad; Mr. Moghul’s presentation focused on the ways in which gender, race and class affect the building and running of American mosques, the ways in which these create crises and the ways in which American Muslims can create more positive, welcoming spaces for real religious community.  Watch below (link):

On Monday, September 20th, Maydan Executive Director Haroon Moghul will be giving a presentation titled “The Beginning and Ends of Islam: An Introduction to the Faith,” from 7:00 – 8:30pm.  The lecture will take place at St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson Street, Manhattan.  The closest subway stop is the 1 train to Christopher Street.  The event is free and open to the public.
